About Alison

My name is Alison and I founded Little Seeds in March 2017. After working as a Community Midwife for several years, I realised how vital it was for local communities to have access to antenatal classes where they could meet other expectant parents and discover mutual support and precious friendships – which often blossom over many years.

My husband Graham and I recently celebrated 40 years of marriage. We have four adult children, one of whom was born at home, and 6 grandchildren. I have been incredibly fortunate and honoured to be a birth partner at 3 of these births, one of which was in America. We have a dog called Echo who I enjoy taking for walks in our beautiful local countryside, connecting to nature and listening to audiobooks and podcasts.

I thrive on learning! I am always on the look-out to continue to develop new skills, knowledge and understanding.  I strive to keep up to date with the latest science, research and evidence. It keeps me vibrant and enables me to remain dedicated to give my very best – as a midwife in the NHS, and through Little Seeds antenatal and first aid classes. I think I am known for my smile, enthusiasm and for giving my heart.

For me, kindness matters.

And how people feel matters. So, at Little Seeds you will encounter me giving my all, with honesty, integrity, dedication and a determination to share with you what I believe can make a positive difference to you during this important chapter in your life.
